Canali Boutique: Sydney CBD

Canali is an international Italian menswear company that portrays Italian style and luxury at it's core. Canali engaged Lamond Projects to build their flagship store in the Sydney CBD in 2016.

The works started with a full demolition and strip out of the existing shop, taking it back to its concrete shell. Upon completion of demolition, we then worked with the designers who were based in Italy, to fit the store to their chosen design and specifications. Some of the highlights of the space include the large chandeliers, the LED recessed strip lighting throughout and the oversized tinted glass room dividers.

Working with designers that were based in Italy had some challenges, however the Canali team and Lamond Projects were eager from the start to build a strong working relationship from afar. The end result was a premium store fitout, with high end finishes, that oozes luxury. We loved working with the Canali team on this fantastic project in Sydney!

High End Residential: Sydney Harbour

Lamond Projects engaged with the client when they acquired the neighbouring property and decided to extend their existing house into the adjoining property.  Our team was tasked with the job of demolishing the house on the neighbouring property, and creating a luxurious and expansive outdoor area for the existing house. The outdoor build included:

- An outdoor dining and entertaining space, including a wood fired pizza oven

- A large pool integrated into the rock face and landscaped garden

- An excavated cave room, built into the existing sandstone rock

- Air lifting full sized palm trees into the property

- A rolling lawn as well as vast amounts of landscaped garden

This project was particularly interesting, as the outdoor space was done in keeping with the Sardinian design of the original house. The architect in charge of the designs was Savin Coulle, a famous Italian architect from the Costa Smerelda. Italian stone masons and builders travelled from Italy to help create Savin’s vision, and the Lamond Projects team was hired to project manage the build from start to finish. Our team was in charge of ensuring the seamless delivery of the project, bringing together the teams from both Italy and Australia.  

This was an incredible project to work on, and we felt honoured to work alongside an award winning architect and his contractors to create an Italian masterpiece in Sydney Harbour. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the client, who was very hands on in the design, and always ensured that the finishes were done to absolute "Porto Cervo" perfection. Working with engineers to integrate the design of the pool into the sandstone cave was both exciting and interesting, and certainly broadened our team's skills and knowledge. Finally, co-ordinating a 450 tonne crane to lift fully established trees into the property was an absolute highlight.
